Folks, below is an email sent to me by a Marine.  He received this in his inbox from his Voting Assistance Officer!!!  God Bless The Marines!!!  Please pass this info to anyone you know in the military and their families.  Good info and all our military should be getting this info from their Voting Assistance Officer!

For those in Illinois, I want you to know I am calling all the election offices asking them how many absentee ballot requests they have to date from our military and their dependents!  Calls are going well and what I like most about this exercise is the election offices in Illinois are aware we are here and we are watching them this time!

Please forward the info out below and ask all military to visit http://www.heroesvote.org/election-ready/  and http://mvpproject.org/  for info!

From a GREAT MARINE (aren't they all!!!):

Marines,

There are only 69 days remaining until the National General election on Tuesday, 6 November. Numerous state deadlines for voter registration are quickly approaching.

Ask yourself: I am I registered to vote? Are the Marines in my shop registered? Is my family registered to vote?  The ability to vote is a privilege afforded to all American Citizens, especially those in uniform.

Consider this: the National election will be held while the squadron is away for pre-deployment training.

Unless you are a resident AND you will be voting in a local polling center in the general election, the most effective way to vote is likely to send in an absentee ballot.

What is the easiest way to register to vote absentee?

In order to register and receive an absentee ballot, you must first submit a Federal Post Card Application (FCPA).  An electronic copy of this is available on the Federal Voting Assistance Program webpage: http://www.fvap.gov/index.html. On the webpage are specific, by-state instructions and deadline dates.

OR:  The squadron Voting Assistance Officer has hard copies of the Federal Post Card Application, ready to be filled out and submitted.

What about my family?

Family members of military personnel are entitled to vote absentee and can be registered by the same procedures.

For additional and assistance, contact the Squadron Voting Assistance Officer, or visit the Federal Voting Assistance Program webpage:  http://www.fvap.org/index.html

  • May God help them and ALL our military men and women to get their absentee ballots requested in time. If anyone on earth deserves the right to vote it's these who put all on the line to protect it.

  • Twana, I hope you (and everyone else here) has shared this info on Facebook, Copy and paste it to an email and send it to anyone you know that is in the military, or even to someone you know that knows someone in the military.

Please make sure all our troops recieve information about how to register and how to vote.
