I've been gathering material on subjects I'm interested in to do exactly this!...Preserve a bit of truth!
Collect books. History, literature, the Bible, the classics. The internet provides a chance for books to be altered and censored. The printed page will last a long time.
I find used book stores, antique shops.....found 'An Interview with General Grant' last year in a used book store written in 1927.......have yet to read it.......

Our true history may be found in bits and pieces making it necessary for those who seek it will really have to dig for it. History shows us that the winners will write history for the masses, deciding what to include and what to omit. In the past, books have been burned and our history with them. Those who treasured knowledge, books, and history, hid them. If you evaluate history by what is in the texts written for curricula Pre School through College then at this point it is politically biased. So, I don't think much will change except for the medium of the printed word.
Then we each should be encouraged to have our relatives write their autobiographies. I did this with my father and it was fascinating, what a life! Along with this we should write our stories for our children. Hopefully, those after us care enough to treasure our histories.
If you are collecting books, better hurry, they have been rewriting them since 1965, and destroying the earlier editions.
Want a clue, just listen to the twisting of the meaning/definitions of words. The thesaurus workers are riding high on muddling our language, and our history will be too.

Cherish still the freedom (or what is left of it) that you can write and read the uncensored literature. In communist countries all history is rewritten, twisted to serve the regime. Books are rewritten, censored and destroyed according to ideology. National heroes are created from criminals (second Czechoslovakian communist president Zapotocky was the war criminal with the international charges of killing prisoners in the concentration camp where he was put by Germans and served as capo- (foreman created from trusted prisoners, running daily task of the camp). On his return as communist he was elected by party as the president of the unified "revolutionized" unions. Something like Jimmy Hoffa here. Later become second communist president of the country.
